NIKTÉ

Temps de Flors 2019

La Cisterna, Girona History Museum.

As a member of the Master’s Degree in Interior Design and Ephemeral Spaces at UPC, we participated with the artistic installation Nikté in the Temps de Flors 2019 festival.

Spring takes us to the precise moment when the transition between absence and life, darkness and light, emptiness and fullness occurs. La Cisterna is a dark space, which is illuminated when a subtle ray of light gives life to the only flower in this desolate landscape and connects it with nature. Light makes the hidden visible. It is the exact moment when everything is reborn, an instant of change that awakens the blooming of new ideas.

Nikté is a word of Mayan origin spoken in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico, and it means “FLOWER”.
